The happiness meter of a student can affect their performance in school. Those who are happier and more secured get to have better performance than those who are not.
As every parent would have it, we want our children to be in a learning environment that encourages them to reach their maximum potential. After all, educational institutions give them a chance to experience what the real world is.
Happy Hearts Preschool and Childcare believes that every child should be given the support they need in order to help them adjust at school. And because of this, parents enroll their child to a child care provider in Anaheim, California.
However, it should also be our goal as a provider of child care services in Anaheim, California to mold children into happy and positive learners. How do we do that? It is through various strategies which include:
- Making them feel welcome
It is difficult to be in a place away from mommy or daddy. It can give them stress and a perception on what school is. So before taking a child in, making sure that they feel they belong is the number one priority.
If we do not make them feel they are welcome, they may associate schooling with something negative. This would then lead their fears into pessimism which would turn into poor performance.
- Letting them anticipate something
When we start our play activity, we make sure that the introduction of our activities can arouse their interest. Any child would find any activity interesting if the teachers make them feel that the activity is something to look forward to.
When children anticipate, they grow excited. And this feeling can increase their happiness meter, therefore, making them perform at their best.
- Investing time to know them
Children are not robots. They have their own background that are as complex as ours. They can feel pain and be woeful and they can also feel joyful and stimulated.
Getting to know the children gives them the feeling that their teacher understands their needs. When we do so, these learners feel comfortable when they are in the room. And if they are comfortable, they perform better.
- Giving them the chance to decide
A positive learning environment is one that considers the decision and interest of the child. It makes them feel respected and it raises their motivation level to do a certain activity.
Another positive aspect of letting the children decide is that they feel their decisions mattered. This will eventually result to them showing their creativity and induce learning.
- Letting them play
It is the nature of infants and toddlers to play. Ripping this privilege from them will only result to feelings of negativity and associating school to prison.
Those are just some of our strategies to keep our learners happy. What are yours? Share them in the comments.
